Felipe

I just returned from having Felipe euthanized. He was such a fighter, living through 5 major surgeries. Except for 1, the vet was sure he wouldn't live through the operation. He had a nice big breakfast, and then I took him to the vet. He was having trouble breathing, becoming dehydrated, and he'd fall and he couldn't get up. He was such a sweet dog. I am comforted by the fact that he didn't die in the street, and that these last 5 months, he was sleeping in my house, and was pampered with special food. I dug his grave, and carried him down there to bury him.
I went to rescue 2 dogs hit by cars on Saturday with a German woman living here. One was already dead and the other had to be euthanized. The woman and her 16 year old daughter are interested in rescuing injured animals so I invited them to the NMO refuge to help bathe dogs once the weather improves.

Felipe is weaker, and I fear he will have to be euthanized sometime this month.
